the joy of NOT cooking

This is my second career and one chosen by me. Raising a family of five girls occupied most of my time in my 30’s and 40’s although, I did work in outside sales to help pay for the “extras”.

I have always entertained friends and extended family in my home and while living in Montreal for 20 years, I had the good fortune to experience some wonderful French cooking as well as, all the ethnic cooking that abounds in a large and diverse city. This prompted me to want to learn more about cooking and led to my decision to go to college. I found cooking and all that goes with it to be a continuous and evolving process.

I graduated from the Culinary Arts Program of Schenectady County Community College in 1994. Then I worked at the college for 4 years supervising students who were responsible for setting up the cooking labs, receiving and storing product and ensuring proper sanitation for the complete cooking complex. I enjoyed my experience at SCCC and learned a great deal about the food industry.

Dinner.Calmwas started in January 2000 and has been growing steadily ever since. I have many wonderful clients and totally enjoy my chosen profession.
